SELCO Foundation is an open source, not for profit organization that engages in field-based R&D and ecosystem building for deployment of clean energy solutions that alleviate poverty in tribal, rural and urban poor areas. The organization works in collaboration with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs, NGOs from various developmental sectors and educational institutions to link the benefits of sustainable energy to poverty eradication. The organization works across verticals such as energy access, health, livelihoods with practitioners in the social sector, energy entrepreneurs and partners from various developmental sectors.

The built environment team within the SELCO foundation works across a large spectrum of projects looking at infrastructure needs for the poor. The program types range from housing, livelihoods, healthcare and other public institutions. The team here conducts deep-dive studies, designs-prototypes and works towards creating evidence that brings out the need and impact of sustainable built environments. This includes critical R&D in the space of futuristic designing, need for structural innovation, automation, yet designing from the lens of the community - their aspirations and needs as well as the current impacts of climate change.
The role of the candidate here is to support the team with Procurement and Operations, strategically plan the procurement needs of the team and the responsibilities are outlined below:
Based on the program plan for the year strategically plan with the built environment program team the procurement needs for the quarter and year and be able to manage procurement for execution of the programs pan India
Responsible for creating a database of contractors, suppliers/vendors in all the geographies that we work in and able to negotiate best rates and timelines.
Responsible for evaluating BOQs, writing and publishing tenders, processing tender applications, working on agreements and work order etc.
